The beautiful, small town of Mason is home to about 1,390 residents and together with the town of Wilton, is home to Russell-Abbott State Forest. The town's charter was granted in 1749, and near the town's center is the boyhood home of Samuel Wilson, the meat-supplier who is believed to have inspired the character of “Uncle Sam”.

Mason is 24 miles is size and is located in Hillsborough County just over the Massachusetts border. A short drive to Nashua and the state’s largest city of Manchester it offers small town living with the convenience of near-by cultural and retail attractions. This quintessential New England community is bordered by New Ipswich and Greenville to the west, Wilton to the north, Milford to the northeast, Brookline the east, and Townsend, Mass. to the south. Being a small community, it shares a post office with Greenville.
